Why we need decorated elephants in a festival or a procession?

Why we need decorated elephant in a festival or a procession? As a latest incident, an infant has been killed at a temple (KoodalManikyam) in Kerala due to a stampede when an elephant got wild (agitated) during the annual festival.

Here who is really wild? Either the elephant or the so called world controller human? Some where somebody written that whatever is in the world, had been created by t...he God to be enjoyed by human beings. Whoever is written that logic and who ever took it in the same meaning does not understand that they are in the heaven of fools.

Until now every year lot of lives had been sacrificed during every festival in most temples in Kerala in one part being an elephant. These Saadhoo animals are mistreated by commonly drunken illiterate mahouts. There are some crazy owners for these elephants who think that they are having a higher status in the society and they are doing this due the 'LOVE' towards the elephant. It seems we are thinking that elephants are also enjoying all these festivals with colors, melams with all the instruments around them and the fireworks near them; standing for a long period of time carrying 5-6 people on its back ! Nobody thinks about its pain and feelings. Ultimately it’s a wild animal and we never should expect a humanitarian behavior from an elephant. Still we say 'it was all due to that elephant'!

Moreover, whenever an elephant is getting mad or wild due to any reason, none of the public will restrain themselves from the upcoming danger; instead they also will run behind or around that animal with stones and sticks and arms as a most nonsense animal even while having kids in their hand. Some people might need its tail hair to get rid of fear! Some cranky fellows wanted to take photos and video clips in thier mobile. Idiots!

The fun part happened in this temple this time is, this incident happened when the police was giving a 'Guard-of-Honor' to the diety. Those guys who were very near the elephant, that the elephant could reach them with its trunk. Can we blame the elephant in this case? More over the history of those elephants seems to be not that sound. Temple authorities that pathetic in thinking about the safety of the devotees. They simply forgot 3 year back incident which killed 3 people in a horrific way in the same temple.

Which God is going get pleased with this act? Who is getting benefited? Is there any purpose? Why every year we need to kill around 20 people? We are still not learning anything! Always carrying the so called 'Aacharam' without dropping any drop of water in it. Never thinks logically with a common sense on anything.

It is high time to BAN elephants from all the festivals and processions. It's creating more troubles than enjoyment, that’s what the statistics says. It's is no more fun. Let them be allowed to live in wild and lets create a protected wild forest zone for them. Let’s concentrate on making rockets and computers.

If you love elephants make your voice against these kinds of mistreatments against elephants. Let them live in their own freedom!
